Introduction
These Booking & Travel Terms and Conditions govern all holiday and travel packages arranged and sold by Active Horizons Getaways, a trading name of Activities Ireland (Company Registration No. [Company No.] , registered at [Registered Address] ).
By submitting an enquiry, accepting a quote, or confirming a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your party. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
Enquiries & Booking Confirmation
All packages displayed on this website are illustrative. We do not operate an instant online booking system. When you submit an enquiry, our team will contact you to discuss your requirements and prepare a bespoke, confirmed quotation.
A booking is not confirmed until you have received a written confirmation from us and paid the required deposit (see Section 3). We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion prior to issuing a confirmation.
You, as the lead booker, are responsible for ensuring all details provided (names, dates, requirements) are accurate and for communicating these terms to all members of your party.
Pricing, Deposits & Payments
All prices quoted are in Euros (€) unless otherwise stated and are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Prices shown on this website are indicative and may vary based on group size, travel dates, and specific requirements.
A non-refundable deposit, as specified in your quotation, is required to secure your booking. The full balance is due no later than 10 weeks (70 days) before your departure date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For bookings made within 10 weeks of departure, the full package price is payable at the time of confirmation.
Payments are to be made by bank transfer to the account details provided in your invoice. We do not accept cash payments. All bank charges are the responsibility of the payer.
We reserve the right to pass on any surcharges arising from significant increases in fuel costs, government-imposed taxes, or currency fluctuations after your booking is confirmed. Where a surcharge exceeds 8% of the total package price, you will have the option to cancel with a full refund.
Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected] . Cancellations take effect from the date we receive written notice. The following cancellation charges apply:
- More than 70 days before departure: loss of deposit only
- 43–70 days before departure: 50% of total package price
- 29–42 days before departure: 75% of total package price
- 15–28 days before departure: 90% of total package price
- 14 days or fewer before departure: 100% of total package price
Changes or Cancellation by Us
Occasionally it may be necessary to make minor changes to your confirmed booking. We will notify you as soon as possible.
In the unlikely event of a significant change (such as a change of departure airport, accommodation of materially lower standard, or a price increase of more than 8%), you will have the option to:
- Accept the changed arrangements;
- Accept an alternative package of equivalent or superior quality, if available; or
- Cancel your booking and receive a full refund of all monies paid.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking where minimum participant numbers have not been reached, where circumstances beyond our control make it impossible to proceed, or where you have failed to make payment in accordance with Section 3. In the event of our cancellation (other than due to your default), a full refund will be issued.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all members of your party take out comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Your insurance should cover, as a minimum: cancellation and curtailment, medical expenses and repatriation, personal accident, baggage and personal effects, and travel delay.
For sports and activity holidays, please ensure your policy specifically covers the activities included in your package (e.g. golf, hiking, water sports).
Passports, Visas & Health
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that all members of your party hold valid travel documents, including passports and any required visas, for the duration of your trip. Most destinations require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your return date.
You are also responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, vaccination, and entry requirements for your destination(s). We recommend checking the latest guidance from the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ireland) or the relevant authority in your country of residence.
We accept no liability for any costs, losses, or disruption arising from your failure to hold appropriate documentation or meet health entry requirements.
Our Liability
We accept responsibility for ensuring that all components of your holiday are supplied as described and with reasonable skill and care. If any component is not provided as agreed, we will make reasonable efforts to remedy the situation.
Our liability to you is limited to a maximum of twice the total package price paid by the affected person(s), except where the applicable limit is lower under international conventions. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see Section 9), the actions of third-party suppliers not contracted by us directly, or your own actions or omissions.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable or pay compensation for any failure to perform, delay in performance, or change in your holiday arrangements where such failure, delay, or change is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control ("force majeure").
Force majeure includes any event we could not have foreseen or avoided even with all due care, including but not limited to: war, civil strife, terrorist activity, natural disasters, pandemics, industrial disputes, or government action.
Complaints
If you have a problem or complaint during your holiday, please inform your local representative or the relevant supplier immediately so that steps can be taken to resolve it at the time.
If your complaint cannot be resolved locally, you must notify us in writing within 28 days of your return by emailing [email protected] , including full details and any supporting evidence. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish or European Union consumer protection law.
